The Artist Joe Higgins

Joe Higgins

Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls, Welcome to Carving Tranquility's World!

I'm now offering you something no other maker or dealer will offer you absolutely Free. What is it you ask, the tricks of the trade to get you started and the tools required to get you making tramp art yourself.

The last 8 years I’ve been bouncing from town to town, no not really being a tramp, I’ve been flipping houses. I’ve finally settled down in the countryside primarily working now as a property manager.

One of the objectives of the site is to give you something no one else would give me education and knowledge about creating tramp art. I am old school I believe you have to give it away to keep it. Over the years I told so many people how to make it with the grinder and that, in my opinion, is why the market has been flooded with so much tramp art. I also told you not to pass it off as old! Maybe you forgot to listen to that piece of advice! With nothing to lose and nothing to gain I’m just bringing Tramp Art back to the basics the CRAFTER.  With that in mind, I would like to compliment the Adirondack crafters who are now coordinating tramp art into their pieces. I am noticing a surge in the use of tramp art in their medium and their pieces are beautiful.

I would love to teach people to do tramp art and eventually build a base of artists who make tramp art today. I’d love the opportunity to introduce you and your art on my site.

I would like others to know they can find someone willing to help them learn and hopefully fall in love with tramp art, regardless if it is modern Tramp Art. On my tools page I will tell you what to look for to spot the modern tramp art being passed as old.

I am pleased to see that so many people are using my ideas. There is so much tramp art available now, just take a look at Ebay. But if you notice it is primarily V tramp art - very defined notching. The question I ask, if tramp art included both V and spoon shape then why is so little spoon tramp art found. My explanation for this phenomenon is no one has figured out how to produce spoon style tramp art today! My thought is there really isn’t as much antique tramp art out there as is claimed.

Now I am proud to say that I am able to offer you SPOON STYLE tramp art. I’m not passing it off as old. All of my spoon style pieces will be signed, stamped, and dated. All of my pieces are glued together, no brads or nails. They are just SWEET, SIMPLE, and AFFORDABLE.

So let me ask you why are you looking at frames or other pieces for $2000-$3000 from the dealers, because they CLAIM it is an antique?? Don’t pay those high prices for “antiques” when you can have something very few have SPOON style. I will be happy to make a piece for your beloved collection of tramp art. You can have something very few other do for your collection.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me. The best time to reach me is between  7-9PM EST.
